More than 111 years of experience in equipment manufacturing and engineering
Founded in 1911 the Group has been involved in innovation in agriculture and allied industries.
One of the break through inventions took place in 1958 when a turnip harvester and seeding device were patented and taken into production. From that time the diverse commerce activities moved more and more into the direction of equipment development and manufacturing.
During the earlier part of the fifties one of the other activities has been the supply and production under licence of a cigar coating material.
During the late sixties this resulted in the development of seed coating technology. Apart from the existence of some level of coating material expertise, new seed processing equipment had to be designed and manufactured. This unique coating technology was offered as a toll processing service or in licence packages to the seed industry. Initially this was done under the name of Hoopman Onderzoek & Ontwikkeling b.v. (Hoopman R&D b.v.) and later as International Seed Technology b.v.
In 1997 this business was acquired by the Germain’s Technology Group. Design and production of seed related equipment however continued to be part of Hoopman Machines.
During 2005 partnerships with other seed equipment manufacturers were explored, which resulted in the acquisition of the Franken Agri & Seed business.
In January 2006 the new business unit, Hoopman, was founded to cater for the specific needs of the seed industry.
In the meantime new technologies, particularly with regard to drying of coated seed, have been developed and patents applied for. These technologies are now being introduced, not only exclusively to the seed industry.
